March is a blur!
I have decided that 2 Conventions in one week is exhausting!!
Once again the Convention "Scrap & More" in Gimli was fabulous! Everyone enjoyed their time together with friends, which was evident with the amount of chatter and laughter that came out of the Crop rooms. They loved the "Cone" game and of course the prizes! Cindy had her Photo Booth set up and it was a hit with the ladies. The "Aprons" were once again amazing helpers and I could not put on this event without them!
There have been a lot of changes at the Lakeview Resort in Gimli and therefore I have made the decision not to return. The "Scrap & More" Convention will now be held at the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Winnipeg. I am very excited about the change in the venue and the fact that Tracy is the Catering Manager at the Radisson! Yes, I found her and can't wait to work with her on the event in October. I will post the details on my website soon.
I had a great weekend not only with the Convention, but I was able to meet up with my best friend from my University days and working at Eatons. We had lost touch, but connected recently through Facebook. Arleen lives in Gimli, so we met after 30 years! We had lots to catch up on. It was so great to see her.
Small world story:
Cindy and I were driving together to Gimli. She asked me how I knew Arleen. She had read on Facebook that we were meeting after so many years. (gotta love FB!) I told her how and then asked why. Cindy explained that her mother had been sponsored by Arleen's Mom and Dad to come over from Germany when she was 18. Cindy's mom was Arleen and her sister's Nanny! Unbelievable! A great small world story! So, Cindy and Arleen got to meet and have a reunion too!
We returned from the Gimli Convention, unpacked the store and then had to pack it up again on Friday for the "Crop & Create" Convention that was held this past weekend. It was a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended! There was a Market Place set up that had 6 Manitoba scrapbooking stores. We had a very busy weekend and did manage to take a few classes. The Scrapbook & Cards Today girls are amazing, talented and such fun! It was exciting to meet published instructors and authors like Kimber McGray, Vicki Boutin and Becky Fleck.
Well, the store is back to normal with tons of great new products! The papers are fabulous. Drop by and see them for yourself!
